Job Description
Locums First is looking for a Locum Nurse Practitioner – GP Surgery (NP) to work for a GP practice in Macclesfield. This role is ideal for a confident and autonomous Nurse Practitioner who can manage minor illness clinics, same-day demand and routine patient assessments within a structured primary care setting.
You will deliver NP-led clinics, assess and manage a broad range of presentations and contribute to efficient patient flow. The practice offers clear session frameworks, strong administrative support and a collaborative clinical team to ensure smooth and manageable sessions.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering independent minor illness and same-day NP clinics
- Assessing, diagnosing and managing undifferentiated presentations
- Providing telephone triage and appropriate clinical streaming
- Prescribing safely within scope where qualified
- Reviewing test results, medication queries and follow-up actions
- Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Working collaboratively with GPs, Nurses and wider clinical staff
Requirements
- Registered Nurse Practitioner with relevant postgraduate training
- Independent Prescribing qualification desirable
- Recent experience in primary care, urgent care or community settings
- Strong autonomous clinical decision-making skills
- Working knowledge of EMIS, SystmOne or Vision
- Enhanced DBS
Working Pattern
- Flexible sessions available up to 4 days per week
- Morning and afternoon clinics
- Ongoing and long-term booking options
