Job Description
Locums First is looking for a Primary Care Practice Nurse – Part-Time Role to work for a GP practice in Wells. This opportunity suits a Practice Nurse who enjoys delivering consistent, high-quality nursing care across treatment room services, chronic disease clinics and routine patient assessments.
You will deliver a balanced mix of clinical reviews and preventative care within an organised primary care environment that values efficiency, patient safety and strong teamworking. The practice provides structured session planning and supportive nursing leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Running chronic disease clinics for respiratory, cardiovascular and diabetic patients
- Performing wound care, dressings and treatment room procedures
- Carrying out immunisations for adults and children (if trained)
- Completing cervical screening where cytology-trained
- Supporting health promotion and lifestyle clinics
- Reviewing test results and supporting patient recalls
- Ensuring accurate and timely clinical documentation
Requirements
- Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
- Primary care experience essential
- Immunisation and smear training advantageous
- Confident managing independent nursing clinics
- Good working knowledge of EMIS, SystmOne or Vision
- Enhanced DBS
Working Pattern
- Part-time regular weekly sessions
- Flexible morning or afternoon clinics
- Suitable for long-term ongoing work
