Job Description
Locums First is seeking an experienced Healthcare Assistant for flexible treatment room sessions across primary care services in Beaminster. This role is ideal for HCAs confident in performing routine clinical tasks within structured GP clinic environments, providing hands-on support to nursing and clinical teams.
You will assist with day-to-day treatment room duties, essential observations and routine procedures, ensuring smooth patient flow and consistent clinical support across the service.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out routine clinical observations including BP, pulse and temperature
- Supporting treatment room procedures such as wound care and dressings
- Performing ECGs and basic health checks
- Assisting with phlebotomy if trained
- Updating digital patient records in line with service protocols
- Supporting clinicians with general duties where needed
- Maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment
Requirements
- Previous HCA experience in primary care or NHS clinical settings
- Confident performing routine clinical observations
- Phlebotomy experience desirable
- Strong communication and patient interaction skills
- Ability to adapt quickly to different clinic environments
- Enhanced DBS
Working Pattern
- Fully flexible sessions
- Weekday, evening or weekend availability
- Options for ad-hoc or regular treatment room work
