Locums First is seeking a Locum First Contact Physiotherapist to join a GP practice in Barrow -in-Furness.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and driven Locum First Contact Physiotherapist to join our team of professionals at Locums First. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing initial assessments, diagnosis, and treatment for patients with musculoskeletal conditions. This is a locum position, offering flexibility and an opportunity to work with various healthcare settings and gain valuable experience.
Working Days and Hours:
- Flexible working days between Monday – Friday
- 8 hours a day
- Flexible between 08:00 – 18:00
- Long-term role

Key Responsibilities:
- Assesses, diagnoses, treats and manages musculoskeletal (MSK) problems
- Prescribes medication within scope
- Develops skills relating to injection therapy
- Performs diagnostic investigations
- Signposts/refers to health and care services
- Audits of health and care practice
- Requests/progresses investigations
Qualifications:
- Educated to undergraduate degree in physiotherapy level
- Master’s level qualification or equivalent
- Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Demonstrates working at education (master’s) Level 7 with competence and capability in MSK-related areas of practice (or equivalent)
