Job Description
Locums First is looking for a Locum Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) to work for a GP practice in Sherborne. This opportunity is suited to an experienced autonomous clinician who is confident delivering safe, efficient and high-quality care within a well-structured primary care setting.
You will take responsibility for managing your own clinical sessions, supporting both acute and routine patient demand. The practice offers clear clinical pathways, reliable administrative support and a stable multidisciplinary team to ensure smooth and effective session delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering same-day and routine ACP clinics
- Comprehensive clinical assessment and management of undifferentiated presentations
- Supporting on-the-day demand through triage and clinical prioritisation
- Prescribing and treatment planning within scope of practice
- Requesting, reviewing and actioning investigations
- Managing referrals and follow-up actions
- Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation
Requirements
- Advanced Clinical Practitioner qualification (Level 7/Postgraduate)
- Professional background in Nursing, Paramedic Science, Physiotherapy or similar
- Independent Prescribing qualification (V300 or equivalent) preferred
- Recent experience within primary care, urgent care or equivalent settings
- Strong autonomous clinical decision-making skills
- Competence using EMIS, SystmOne or Vision systems
- Enhanced DBS
