Job Description
Locums First is looking for a General Practitioner (GP) – Primary Care Role to work for a GP practice in Ashton Under Lyne. This role is ideal for a GP seeking consistent, well-supported sessions within a structured primary care setting focused on safe, effective and patient-centred care.
You will manage a varied patient list including routine reviews, urgent presentations and continuity cases. The practice provides strong administrative backing, established clinical systems and a stable workflow to ensure smooth session delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Running routine and urgent primary care clinics
- Managing acute presentations and ongoing medical conditions
- Conducting telephone consultations where required
- Prescribing and reviewing treatment plans appropriately
- Interpreting investigations and handling follow-up tasks
- Maintaining clear, compliant clinical records
- Contributing to safe, team-based patient care
Requirements
- Full GMC registration as a General Practitioner
- Current NHS Performers List inclusion
- UK GP experience within primary care
- Confident autonomous clinical decision-making
- Knowledge of EMIS, SystmOne or Vision systems
- Medical indemnity and Enhanced DBS
Working Pattern
- Regular or ad-hoc session availability
- Full or half-day clinics
- Ongoing long-term opportunities available
