Job Description

Locums First is seeking a Locum Children and Young People’s Mental Health Practitioner to join a GP practice in St Davids.

Locums First is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Children and Young People’s Mental Health Practitioner to join our team. As a mental health practitioner, you will be responsible for providing support and treatment to children and young people who are experiencing mental health issues. This position is ideal for those who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of young individuals and have a strong understanding of mental health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children and young people (CYP) (and their families/carers) who present to general practice with identified or suspected mental health issues (e.g. anxiety, depression, recognising risk of an eating problem, or in responding to crisis including those who may have complex needs)
  • Ranging from AfC Band 4 to 8a including, but not limited to, a children wellbeing practitioner, CYP community mental health nurse/practitioner, clinical psychologist, mental health occupational therapist, mental health community connector, care navigator or other role, as agreed between the PCN and provider of CYP community mental health teams

Requirements:

  • Due to the variety of mental health practitioner roles, there is no universal standard for education and training requirements. Dependent on individual profession

Working Days and Hours:

  • Flexible working days between Monday – Friday
  • 8 hours a day
  • Flexible between 08:00 – 18:00
  • Long-term role
