Job Description
Locums First is looking for Locum Healthcare Assistants in Fairway Avenue. This opportunity provides flexible clinical support work across a range of local primary care services, offering varied sessions suited to HCAs with strong patient-facing skills and confidence in delivering routine clinical tasks.
You will be supporting different primary care teams by carrying out essential observations, assisting in treatment room duties and contributing to the smooth flow of clinics. Each service offers clear guidance and structured workflows to ensure a consistent working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Performing routine patient observations such as BP, pulse and temperature
- Supporting treatment room procedures under clinical supervision
- Conducting ECGs and basic health checks
- Assisting with phlebotomy if trained
- Providing lifestyle advice and basic patient education
- Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Supporting clinicians with general duties where needed
Requirements
- Previous HCA experience in primary care, community or NHS settings
- Phlebotomy skills desirable
- Ability to perform clinical observations confidently
- Good communication and patient interaction skills
- Adaptability across different primary care environments
- Enhanced DBS
Working Pattern
- Fully flexible shifts
- Options across weekdays, evenings or weekends
- Regular or ad-hoc bookings available
